One of the most famous car brands in Britain, Vauxhall continues to sell a huge range of vehicles in big numbers, and with one of the largest dealer networks in the country.

The core of the Vauxhall range hasn't really changed in years; its small car, the Vauxhall Corsa, is a keenly-priced rival for the Ford Fiesta, while the Vauxhall Astra is an accomplished competitor in the same class as VW Golf and Ford Focus. It's also available as an estate, called the Astra Sports Tourer.

Further down the range, Vauxhall has two city cars; the Viva is a neat, good-value offering designed to compete with the Hyundai i10, while the Adam is a more funky, style-focused model, an alternative to the Fiat 500.

The market for large family cars has dwindled in recent years, but Vauxhall still sells its rival for the Ford Mondeo, the Insignia - along with a couple of MPVs, the Meriva and its larger stablemate, the Zafira Tourer. There's also a large four-seat convertible in the range - the Cascada - though it sells in tiny numbers.

Vauxhall now sells three SUVs, too – the Nissan Juke-rivalling Mokka X, and the larger Crossland X and Grandland X. We've found points to like about all three, although none is class-leading.
