Our overall rating:
The German trident of Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have dominated the luxury car class for years, but what if you fancy something a bit different?
Well, the Jaguar XF is probably your best bet. It's a particularly fine choice if you love your driving because it handles more sweetly than its luxury saloon rivals, including the mighty BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class.
This is actually the second-generation XF, although it looks quite similar to its predecessor (2008-2015), which you can read about here.
Passenger space – not usually a Jaguar strength – also impresses on the latest model. However, it's not all good news, because the boot is an awkward shape and interior quality is rather humdrum compared with its German rivals.
A range of four and six-cylinder engines are available, and there are four trims to choose from. Read on over the next few pages for everything you need to know before buying an XF, including our tips on which version to choose.
